Event Description:
Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission is expanding its inventory of Philadelphia's public school buildings to recognize those constructed from 1937 to 1980. Join PHMC to delve into this fascinating period, which combined new theories of education with new styles of architecture such as Art Moderne, International Style, and Brutalism. 
 
Learn about the work and research completed by PHMC to date, how the inventory can be used by the leaders, managers, developers, and stewards of Philadelphia's public school buildings, and possible approaches to maintaining and adapting these important educational spaces. Panelists include: Cory Kegerise, PHMC; Domenic Vitiello, University of PA; and Linda Dottor, Community Design Collaborative.
