Event Description:


Join the BIA's Multifamily Committee at The Astir, a 149-unit multifamily development in Philadelphia's Callowhill neighborhood. Located on the Broad Street Line with easy access to Temple University and Center City, The Astir was designed for busy professionals who want a quiet retreat close to the pulse of the city.

The Astir was built using volumetric modular construction, a method that shaped the building from the ground up. Modular construction allowed for deeper balconies, more natural light, and stronger acoustic separation between units, resulting in a quieter, more private living experience. The project is a capstone for VBC's integrated team, with VBC serving as developer, architect of record, and general contractor, executed fully from concept to keys. Modules were manufactured at VBC's Berwick, PA factory, with furniture manufactured at VBC's Poland factory rounding out the delivery.
