Two award programs offer BIA Members an opportunity to get recognized for making a difference in the industry.

Delaware Valley Green Building Council’s Groundbreaker Awards celebrate green building leadership and innovation in the region. And the Building Big Awards, a new program of Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region, honor individuals and companies in the development and real estate industry who are changing landscapes and changing lives.

Groundbreaker Awards

Are you/your company committed to sustainability in the built environment within the Greater Philadelphia region? If so, get the recognition you deserve by nominating an innovative built project, your organization, or someone you know for Delaware Valley Green Building Council’s 2017 Groundbreaker Awards, which recognize the best in green building leadership and innovation. Award-winners will be honored at the Groundbreaker Awards event on Sept. 19.

Nominations are currently open and the deadline to submit is Wednesday, July 12. To learn more, visit https://dvgbc.org/event/2017-groundbreaker-awards.

Building Big Awards

Big Brothers, Big Sisters chose the theme “Changing Landscapes. Changing Lives” because they recognize the similarities/commonalities of the positive social effects of real estate industry professionals who have stepped up to improve local communities through infrastructure. While they continue to improve the neighborhood landscapes, BBBS Independence continues to carry out its vision for all children to achieve success in life through one-to-one mentoring. Real estate professionals are changing our landscapes with new and innovative architecture, as well as restoring historic and significant structures and redefining our neighborhoods with their vision. Winners will be recognized at an event on October 12 at the Electric Factory.

BIA members are encouraged to nominate themselves or their colleagues for the Building Big Awards. Nominations must be submitted by July 31, 2017. Learn more at http://www.buildingbigawards.org/buildingup/
